Spoon is about a close relations’ heroin addiction and the effect it had on me as a child, the resentment towards me and the lack of love they had for me in their narcissistic world. This has had a long-lasting effect on my relationships, mental health and self-worth over the years and I’ve used music as an escape or release for the thoughts and feelings I’ve been dealing with over the years.
Lyrically the track may come across as something quite depressing and harrowing but I wanted to musically create something with a positive vibe, to represent my struggles and the ways I have tried to deal with my emotions and maintain a positive attitude.
